Default Wonder Speed ?

Does anyone know how fast a typical Sig Wonder with a .15 (specifically a .15LA with an 8x4 prop) will fly ?

I don't have access to a radar gun but mine is pretty fast with a .15 FP and an 8x4 prop weighing in at 29 oz.

The real problem is the plane is fairly small so you'll want to keep it close. Mine actually flies pretty smooth going flat out.

Yeah, mine is pretty fast and smooth too. However it is quite a bit heavier than yours - it weighs 35.5 ounces with 3 standard S3004 servos and a 600 mAh battery pack. I am guessing that you are using smaller components, no?

Does anyone know how fast these things fly?

Ya, I went with 2 mini and 1 micro (on the throttle) servos. I also used a 270 Nicd pack.

A speed .28? I'd love to hear how that works out.

Me too! I had to add some nose weight to it anyway, might as well put a bigger mill on it! Should be fast then huh?

With that .28 you should be able to cut a little weight by leaving the wing off

Try the 15 LA with a 7x6 prop. Makes a lot of difference over the 8x4.

Default Building one now

OK first what is everyones "best guess " of how fast their Wonder flies flat out ? 60 MPH ? More ?

Im putting in a MDS .18 but I only have one servo right now, a Expert SL300 which will probably go on elevator. What servos do you all recommend for ailerons ? I was thinking a HS-225MG ?
Would I do better to put some kind of mini servos for ele & ail ?
Guess I'll go with a HS-55 for throttle.

What are your suggestions ?

Thanks,
John

Yeah, I'd guess that mine is around 50-60 mph,... or so,... It's hard to judge.

I'm using S3004 and no problems so far
