Friend of mine and I are looking into getting into combat flying. Money not really an option to a point. What is the most powerful NON-BEARING 25 size engine ou there?........Rules are that it has to be a bushinged engine......I am going to be installing it on a gremlin....Any advice is very appreciated......Any suggestions also well appreciated.....thanks....Tim

The Norvel BigMig.25 is the hottest bushed engine out there. Run a search here in the Combat Forum for BigMig, and you sould get a whole bunch of info on it.

The Norvel has good power but they are hard to keep together.

If your limited to bushing engines the Norvel 25 big mig is hard to beat, cheap too. Run a 9x4 prop on it. I had this set up and my gremlin was radared at 85 mph.

Keep your gremlin as light as possible, use a 270 mah battery and a 4 oz tank. Also cut the wing span down to 44", the stock 48" is a lot of wing area for a 25 size plane.

I love flying Gremlins, been doing it for 10 years now but they are not good for any kind of combat. Try a Predator with a good BB.25 or plain bearing .40 if it combat on a local level.

I'm pretty sure the MVVS is a BB motor, which isn't what he asked for.

(If you wanted power from a BB motor, the new Webra is kicking everyone's tail right now).

If you're allowed BB engines, and aloowed to use a .29, Fora makes one.. 270 smackeroos or so.

You could also perhaps try Lee Liddle's modifications with, say, the Magnum .25XLA. Or for plain bearing, get a cheap TT .25 or OS .25 LA and do the same mods..

If money is no object I would be looking at Nelson or Jett engines. Some very fast overseas engines also like Foria and NoviRossi, but you will get better service with the American companies.

Hey guys dont forget about taking an inexpensive motor Mag GP, TT GP, or OS FP and do the normal little tricks and then play with the head gaskest and chemical horsepower (30% and 40% nitro). It is an easy way to get the bushing motors to really spool way up.
