Me and a friend have been flying a little more than a year. We have recently been to two RC Fun flys where combat was flown. Looks so fun we want to try this. We both had the idea of Lanier Shrike .10 to fly, but they want do the close in loops and turns as hoped. Tower Hobbies only have a Lanier Ripper Kit listed as a combat plane. But the planes I saw where smaller. What plane do most people use and where can I get one on line? We have a .15 and a .25 to go in them. Thanks to anyone for help!!!

Of course the answer depends a lot on how you are flying and who you are flying with. If it's just you and a couple of buddies flying locally, you can do anything you want. If you're hopeing to go to some of the contests that may not be very far from you, you'll want gear that is legal in those contests.
The Lanier planes you mention are the only combat planes available though the major online hobby shops like Tower.
However, there are LOTS of options available from small companies or individuals in the combat community.
One good option is the Avenger family, made and sold by AJ Seaholm (aka "The Tick"). http://www.teamseaholm.com
DownhomeRC run by Ben Morrow has several kits, including the Piranha.
Lee Liddle has the Cobra and the Falcon family of planes, some of which he kits, some are kitted by George Cleveland.
That's just a short list off the top of my head. There are lots more listed at www.rccombat.com. I don't have the urls for all of them either.

You may want to check out the SSC Cobra and Smack II on the [link=http://www.texascombat.com]Texas Combat[/link] web site. They're made for 15 size engines. You can also check out the forum at the same site for details and others experience with the planes.
