Be careful about doing that. Some RTV's give off some corrsive gasses as they cure, so you might find yourself with a trashed RX. It probibly depends on the brand.

Or you can just use an RX that only has one board, which is what I do for the most part. (of all the RX's I have, only 1 has 2 boards, the rest are single.)

I am going to go with what the factory recomends.
I want it to be durable and last along time.
Me my brother and dad are getting into combat.
We fly 3d profile planes now and we think combat will be really fun.
If anyone has any suggestions on good combat planes
please feel free to reply.
Again.
Thanks very much for the replys.
This will help me out for my first combat plane.

ok
I found a flight pack.
All Hightech
Reciever Micro 555 fm reciever dual conversion fm rx crystal
Channel 47 cyrstal Which I guessed at.
2 hs-225 mg servos
1 hs-85mg servos
4.8v 270mah Nicad Battery Pack
12" servo extension
All of this I can get at servo city for 169.00
When you go to there website you can make your own flight pack and this is what they helped me with and here at this forum.
This will work on My futaba 9cab digital radio.
For me this is pretty expensive but Im willing to pay for it for good quality.
It will set me back some to get the other material but I can wait.
IF anyone has any suggestion on hitec product that would make this price go down or anyother brands I should look at
I would like to Know.
This flight pack is for my tufflight panther
Thank You
Don

You can save a few bucks by using an HS-81mg on throttle rather than the 85MG. The 85 is a better quality servo of course.

DEF,
That's going to go to Kirk's head pretty fast. BTW there are still a few months left in 2005, and Kirk can't get to all the contests that are going on. From my vaunted position of 73rd in the nation I am no threat but there is a lot of combat left down here in the South this year.

Kirk,
You are the man! I hope you don't mind the kidding, because you sure can fly combat!

Lou,
Ha, no problem. And thanks.

And yes, there is a lot of flying left to do for the NPS standings. But I'm not sweating that. I'm actually not chasing points this year as hard as I did last year. I missed too much of the early season with the job problems, and I don't have the vacation to travel much late.

Wow Thanks for the expert advise and taking the time to answer my questions.
I will be putting metal gear servos all hitec equipment because of your advice.
I'm planning on flying ssc & Open b with the panther.
Combat seems like its going to be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks Again
Don

It seems like someone always has a great fix for problems. Back in the 70's some of the guys were potting their receivers by filling them with epoxie. Never tried it myself as was flying those cheep pro line radios. There was two guys in our bay area club that did use the epoxie pot system with good results.

Hey guys, think I will put in my $.02--I have been flying two Panthers for both Open B and SSC and have had numerous midairs with one, and have not really had to go to the second one yet. I am not as proficient as Kirk chasing down streamers and have to rely on the furball/luck method which of course results in more mid airs. These planes are TUFF!! I have been a fan of the ealier Predator developed by the Tufflight boys and really like the Panthers. Make sure and use the Icarex--kind of a pain, but it will really help the plane stay flying. I have had numerous prop strikes and alittle tape, and I'm back in the air.

I am ussing Hitec 225MG on all three contols, 555 receiver and 270 nimh. Smaller servos are ok for the throttle, but changing a servo due to stripped gears is not viable at the field on a Panther. That's why I use strong servo on the throttle.

The guys at Tufflight are very helpful as well. Joe responded to a few of the posts here, he is one of the owners. Great sense of humor too (check out the photos in the Panther instructions).

John LaBarre is organizing a one day Havoc Over Hamilton in October for SSC, hope some of you gus can make it.

Take care.

Greg

I would head out to Hamilton in Oct, but it's up against a contest at my home field in Maryland.
