Default SPAD DPS engine question

WIll an OS 40LA work on a SPAD DPS built to plans without the landing gear, and hand launched? I'm not looking for speed or combat use, just want to know if that is enough power to fly from a hand launch? Any ideas to lighten the airframe?

Thanks!

A stock DPS won't be a real rocket or anything with the LA, but it will fly the plane fine! Some guys will use a hole saw and drill "lightening holes" in the fuselage to reduce weight, but if you are just sport flying it, I personally don't think that is needed. For the price, give it a try stock first and see what you think!
