The Norvel puts out a lot more power, but can be a bit hard to get running right for some people. Also, the Norvel has the most brain-dead muffler mount I've ever seen. You also should get the Norvel head wrench to be able to tighten down the head button, it sometimes comes loose, espeically during break-in.
The OS FP puts out less power, but is reliable right out of the box and will cause you no trouble.

Since you are posting in the combat forum I will assume you plan to use it for combat. I had an FP that I mangled up when I was getting into combat. There were some press fit pieces making up the throttle assembly that won't stand up to the abuse of combat. It was also down on rpm compared to what my .15 LAs turn. I don't have a Norvel 15 but I do have 2 Norvel .25s and I love em! If the 15 is anything like the 25s, you'll have to tinker with it a bit to get the throttle to open and close without binding but they really crank out the rpm.

cute trick. I actually managed to find one of the head wrenches, but my Norvel .15 is still in the box. But it's a somewhat popular engine here in A class. If it swings the 8x3 like it can swing the 7x4, it could actually be hard to keep it under the SSC RPM limit. The recent rules change and the price on the engine coming down means that the Norvel .15 is now legal in SSC when it wasn't before.
Also, note that the .25 uses normal bolts to hold on the muffler. The .15 doesn't. It uses a clip system. It's seriously flawed. I've seen plenty of Norvel mufflers go missing. And they are expensive and hard to obtain. You'll want to do a mod to strap on the muffler.
