I was wondering if anyone has developed a matrix program that works the way CD's want it to.
If not, I am willing to develop one with help from you guys and it would be FREE for anyone to use.
I was wondering what the CD's would like to have it exactly do.
From what I've heard, it needs to be able to automatically adjust the matrix for pilots that don't show up at all or can't fly in round but are able for the next round.
What I was thinking is that you can select if the pilot is able to go in the next round or is out for the day totally. The program would then regenerate the matrix for the next round.
It will only produce a matrix for the next round and not any after that because who knows who will be able to fly. I was also thinking, as soon as the next round is set, the program is locked via a password by the CD and the next rounds will be able to be viewed but not edited unless the password is entered. The only drawback is that the program would have to run from a computer continously because of the dynamics of combat.
Any other suggestions would be helpful, like what information needs to be tracked (pilot, meets, rounds, heats, etc...)

I know you guys might be thinking that this won't work, but I can assure you this will work if I can get your guys input. I am a young aspiring programmer that has learned that given the correct requirements of an application, it can be done. No matter what. It may take some time, but it can be done.
One more thing I would like to know is what kind of reports (score sheets) would you guys like. Broken down by heats, pilots, rounds, meets, or all of the above?
I am also thinking of making it so that you can select how you want to do scoring. Point values and what you want to score/deduct.

It would be nice to have such a program.
Go to www.rccombat.com to download the contest package. It should answer most of your questions.

Midair,
That sounds like a GREAT project for you.
Count us in for your Beta program. We run a match every month for RCCA points, and we fly at least once a week just for fun and would be able to test your program and provide feedback on bugs, needed features, interface, etc...
You can reach me at [email protected], remove the obvious spam-faker to email me.
