Landing without Landing gear
Make sure the prop is tightened down horizontal when the engine is up against the compression stroke. This is where it will stop when you shut the engine down and dead stick in for your belly landing!

Landing without Landing gear
On the first 10 or 12 combat Spads I put hard wood skids...but they broke off anyways! That was like 300 Spads ago and I haven't done anything special since, and have never incered any damage from a controled belly landing. Bring it in just like a geared plane, flair that baby just above the ground and let her slide in the grass!
