Another source for 1/8" glass rod

In the plastics listings they have 1/8" x 72" glass rod for $1.35
And they have it in stock. They usually cut it to 36" to keep shipping costs down, but if you want it full length tell them to leave it 72" in the notes section.

is a 1/8" glass rod stiff enough to be an adequate reinforcement for wings? I've never worked with solid glass rods, so I have no idea what sort of stiffness they offer. I currently use carbon fiber arrow shafts ( the hollow ones) and they seem pretty rigid. I am f=just curious as to how the two compare.

Tbyrd, CF is stiffer and lighter than Fibergalss. Fiberglass is more impact resistant. A 1/8" galss spar top and bottom on a foam wing is pretty darn rigid.
