I was wondering if you all knew where there are free plans for a foam core wing Combat plane. I am not looking for a SPAD, I want something that can fly better than a rock. I was hopping someone would know of a good site for plans.
Thanks

the spad bat and spad hor are some pretty hot flying airplanes. If you want them to fly even hotter, you can put foam core wings on them. But what exactly are you asking for? How to make foam wings?, What?

Try
http://georgiacombat.com/

Look in the techniques and building links.

BTW, I've built a few of them Spads, followed the directions, used the recommended coroplast thicknesses and type of gutterpipe as well as powered them with the recommended engines...and they fly pretty darn good. Nothing like a rock.

Not to mention they have placed rather high in some contests... Open-A and Open-B, and if I remember correctly Proppy Jon from Phoenix was leading RCCA recently in 2610 Scale points using a SPAD, the Corostang.

Wooohoooo!

our r/c club (ozark mountain barnstormers in ozark mo.) has selected the QHOR as our first stab at club combat. many old r/cers were ask there opinion and the QHOR or PQHOR rated high for flight ability and easy building and most of all DIRT CHEAP!! starting with well presented free plans. dont know where to top this.

KK,

I have built about 100 of the SPADS and I will have to admit that some of my first SPADS were nothing less than a handfull. I have found that some of them fly "the way I wanted them to" and some did not. Most of them are outstanding flying machines. I have about 3000 different plans stored in my computer and I would be willing to send you one or two but you would need to tell me what type of CADD program that you are using and what format you would like them in. Of the two plans that I am willing to send, both of them require about 30 hours cutting angle guides, templates and formers before you start cutting the foam. I love to scratch build and I would be glad to help you with what you want. You may email me at the address below

p.s. got an son ranked in the top 10 in combat. He started with a SPAD, and he still kicks butt with the Corostang

Yeh I can't believe that young pup made it into the top 10 with the big dogs. The heck of it is he's going to make up some ground in Tennesse soon. The Tick will be there gunning for the top spot so you better pack the OFF (insect repelent). Wish I could be there to take your streamer but I gotta get these darn honey do's done. See you fellas at the next one. Keep up the good work BJ. Say hi to the Tick for me.

Propdodger,

Looks like this one will be up for grab with you out of the picture. As for the Tick, I have been looking for him for a while. I think that we will pit by the tick to see what I can learn from him and so I can talk to him as we fly. I think it will be well worth the trip. Merciless is trying to see if he can get a kitchen pass for the weekend and I hope he can make it. I have never met a better bunch of fellars than those we met way down in Dixie.

I am going to have to feed Ben a couple of streamers for all the nice things that he said about me. See you in Smithville and yes I will knock the Tick down once for you.
