here's my maiden with the Mig-7 I made...bought the mold from a combat buddy (thanks Randy) and tried fiberglassing for the first time..CNC hot wired the wing...2lbs 6 ozs AUW dry...very quick build...she turns like that Parkzone 190 I converted...but much stronger airframe...these are gonna be fun..I figured about $20 all up cost per airframe is what I have into it.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QC8nmiBJa8M

Twisted,
Looks great. Looks like you got a real good flyer there.
I assume that at one point, this started out as a Dave West Mig7 and your design may have been based on that? One problem with the Dave West Mig7. It didnt look anything like that. His Mig 7 was basically, a Mig 3 with longer wings. The actual Mig 7 was a prototype (which never saw production) was called the I-224 an it looked more like a Yak3.
Your's is legal in AMA 2610, however, in Canada, it would have to be modified to a 44" wingspan, and called a Mig3 since they must have seen action in WW2.
Any pictures of the build?

thanks....I did make this one at 44" WS...a few of us have been flying this airframe in combat for a few years from the same molds, not sure what kit was used for the plug...hard to find pics of it since like you said it was a prototype, so I painted it like a Mig-3.......I'm not sure if we still have 2610...maybe something like 30/40-48 or something.....

Looks pretty fast WITHOUT a streamer. I assume you don't plan on flying with one for very long so it is probably good to fly it in the condition it will be in after about 30 seconds into the round. Your friend Wayne.

They won't be mine unless you stop by my pit(the one with all the nice planes)and pick up some of the ribbons I cleaned off after each round. Wayne Mayo -Scale CHAMPION '07'-'08 Keep dreamin'-I mean building. By the way, you must have some miracle engine tuner moddin' your engines- anyone I know? Also, you might try making one prop blade a 1/4 inch shorter than the other as this eleminates P factor and will counter act your plane's shaking as it is so afraid of mine.

"Wayne Mayo"????? Never heard of him.....I do remember a pilot that seemed to run instead of fight when I was behind him...but he probably didn't want to scuff up any of his "nice planes"...I guess.......

I think it would be closer to be described as walking away from those tanks you fly-don't forget that plane from the country of"Parkzonia" that made a fatal mistake to be in the way of a real Fockewulf. W

you win on the tanks........but you'll havta admit that Parkzone could keep step with that Stein Fockewolf....I was sure that I hit you tho....we both went down on that one tho...no tanks this year...fast, light and a fleet of 'em....

That Mig-7 was really new to me ...I am glad Finland made a peace already in 1944 with USSR and those beasts never showed on our territory.
The plane seems to be I-224 not Mig-7 in the story.

nice videos....looks a tad cool there....gotta love these fighters. This is the first one I've made this way....I'm finishing 5 more now and they are turning out alittle nicer each time...I put the one in the video in at full throttle screwing around the other day, surprisingly enough it needed only some minor work and had it flying the just as good the next day....what's better than combat and still legal ..............[8D]

A buddy of mine has been building the Coro Mig. They are laser cut and very clean. He has scale and SSC versions. Pics are at [link=http://members.cox.net/pfcombat/]Palomar RC Flyers Combat[/link]

it does look like this I-224...maybe it is ...has the same lines
