I have put my tx antenna into the prop twice now.The first time it chopped the antenna in half and the other time put a 90 deg. bend in the antenna.I have been flying RC now for 20 years and never had this problem.The wind blowing the plane and streamer around while holding the plane with engine running in hand, I forget to watch out for the tx in my other hand. Is getting the tx antenna in the way common or is it just me.

i have to admit that i'm guilty of skimming the antenna with the prop twice now, god knows how many time i start the engine with the antenna just below the prop, :stupid:

I never had a problem last year, but this year, I've twice gotten my antenna in the prop. Just small dents though, didn't cut the metal or break anything. The short antennas look like a good way to go.

With mine, I've glued a straw or pushrod guide to the tail where vertical and horizontal stabs meet. Then string the antenna through the straw and then tie a small knot to the end. I've never had a proble.

Lately, I've gone to the to whip antennas, but purely for aestitic reasons.

The way I launched(notice past tense) my combat was easy. My dad would hold it, I would start it, I would grab my TX, Jam it up to full, then all my dad would have to do is let it go and zoom. If you are trying to start it by yourself get help. If you already have help, keep your dang antenna away from the prop!
