Not my work but a company in Canada that makes CVTs for Snow Mobiles called CVTech. Its a prototype that I'll be testing in the speed car. If it works it will be availble for RC enthusiasts.

Cheers

I'm subscribing to this! That CVT is nuts! Can you imagine it with even larger end cups?

About time someone applies the 100 year old technology of cvt to nitro rc's. Someone should talk Comet into making some.

Hi

I got the CVT and hooked it up to an electric motor to see what it went like. The CVT took so much power just to turn the gearbox the 3.5 turn brushless motor overheated and broke the spindle. I dont know if it will work.

I am on a short development cycle for the speed event in September so need a working car. I have put the CVT asside at the moment to concentrate on a 3 engine shaft drive car with a 3 speed gearbox. When I get it working the plan is to fit the CVT in the car and compare it against the 3 speed.

Anyway this is off topic. If you need info on the CVT go here
