Here's my winter project. It's my first drag car, and i build it with lots of parts that i have here in my tool box.
The engine is a JPX 28 AB drag mod
Just need an idea for the front stering system.

are you going all wheel drive or just rear wheel?

just rear wheel drive. The chassis is an Ofna DM-one RTR chassis.
I will probably try to fit the stering system of an associated rc10gt, or the one of a traxxas rustler.
Or symply put the stock front end of the DM-one, with on board lay down shock, and put 1/8 off road buggy tires.

hey dakmat, at least you are tackling a drag car but in a drag race RC car, you don't want shocks in the rear at all. The front can have shocks but not the front. The rear end tires take the shock and load of the power and with shocks, it creates too much movement and you loose traction once the springs unload. What I did on one of my drag street cars was put a solid link that was the same length as the stock shocks and what a HUGE difference in the way the car launched. The shocks also react differently each time you make a pass and that makes it hard to tune the chassis because it will pull hard left on one pass and then hard right on another. With a solid end, you put weight where you need it and it holds right there and then that is when you can start to tune your engine for max power/ET.

Should i keep the rear diff and fill it with thicker fluid or put a spool or a diff locker ??

Well find out if they make a solid spool first and do that. If not, then yes fill it solid because again, you don't need one side be locking and the other unlocked while trying to drag race. A solid spool is better for straight line racing.

Just take a look at alot of drag race specific cars and you'll see solid axles, no shocks, etc.

I'll keep checking in on you and help as much as possible. It should run hard. Why not a 2-speed though and what ratio is that single speed?

I've think to put the 2 speed of my DM-one (16/20 on the bell and 44/48 on the spur), but i've change the stock rear diff ratio (13/43) for a bullet proof CEN GENESIS diff (9/26 ratio).
Presently, my center spool is a 46 spur on it, and i plan to use a 12T clutchbell.

So i don't think that my DM-one 2-speed ratio will work with my CEN 9/29 diff.

I'll try it with the single speed, and if i need some more low end grunt and top speed, i'll put it back the stock Ofna diff ratio (13/43) with the two speed.

But originaly, this two speed was design to work with little 4.2" on-road wheel, and now i've large monster truck paddle.

My only option will be to find an other set of clutcbell gear, maybe 12/16. but not sure if i could find this gear.

But another think to take in consideration, i'll not only drag race with this puller, but i'll use it to play in sand pit too[>:]
