Question Battery Swap Question

Hey 1st time to post.. hopefully i get this right..

i bought a used e10 drift car all stock except for an upgraded battery. Only thing is the battery that i got with it doesnt match the battery that is currently in the car . Well actually the battery is bigger and the plug is different. So the factory one is a 7.2v nihm 2000mah and the other one is a traxxas lipo 2 cell battery 7600 mah 25c 7.4v. Now i have both battery chargers so thats not the issue. The issue is the car doesnt have the same plug as the upgraded battery and the upgraded battery has an extra wire on the plug, i assume for use only with the charger and its AUTO battery ID System. Anyhow, Suggestions on how to make this work?

I figured just splice the New Battery with quick disconnects so that i can switch between the plug for charging and the plug for driving, assuming the little black wire is only needed when charging (if even then) ..

im sure others have had this issue, ive searched a little over the net, but someone might can possibly point me in the right direction with a one liner and hopefully not a slick one but an intelligent one.

thanks in advance..

now im off to read up on how to modify this thing. for sure needs some damn tires, even with this little battery. hard as hell to keep it straight. But fun to drive.

so in the pics i used the wrong battery but the plugs are of out interest.
The one on the left is what the car has and the old battery has. The one on the right is what my new battery has and what i assume needs to be replaced or added onto the car, whichever, if possible, needs to be done (AND i know how to cut and splice i just dont want to burn my house down bc of something i could have avoided.)

The one with the 2 plugs, the middle picture, i was just curious if thats just another style??

thanks again

Personally I'd swap everything to dean's plug on all of your equipment.

The plugs are easy to work with and solder.. plus everything will be uniform..

If you are not up for that make your own plug adapters female to male or vise versa for your needs.

Yep change your plugs to deans. just cut off the old wires one at a time so you don't short the battery and solder on the deans. make sure you connect them right so you don't run it to problems when trying to charge it. when you charge your lipo's plug in both plugs not just the small one with 3 wires
i'm not sure your problem with keeping it straight is the tires. the person you got it from might have it set up for (CS)/counter steer or could just need some toe adjustment but new tires are easy to make and easier to buy.

Thank You For The Replies.

Now i have a few more,

Make Tires? I actually have a 3d printer, i assume i could use this to make them, probably even other parts for the car??
Also on the battery that is new, it has a little wire, i assume its just a ground wire but you cant exactly tell bc the wire runs behind the casing on the battery and on the plug it actually goes into the charger..It runs out of the battery next to the black (ground) wire to the plug and actually has a female adapter within the plug and the battery charger has a male adapter (actually 2 , one on each side of the power/ground)

Do i just run the little black wire , crimped, with the normal ground??

well after looking at the charger,

i gotta keep the plug bc the actual plug goes into the charger. or leave the plug in the charger with the wires hanging out, put some quick connects on each wire and do the same for the car ??

So what am i supposed to do with the little black wire (the 3rd wire) on the battery when hooking it up to the car?? i guess im gonna just have to go and get a male plug so i dont have to "downgrade" it. but then im still left wondering what the wire does and if the car needs that extra wire. i assume its just for the charger and the car has no need for it. .. . ??

to make tires find 2 inch plastic pipe. PVC or ABS and and a large pipe cutter. measure the contact width of the tire on your car and cut the pipe there. there are some good tut's on it just google it.
i don't have a battery like that but the small wire(on mine there is 3) is used when charging.
