I thought drifting started off road with ralley cars??? The advantage ofr some people it is easy and very inexpensive to turn a touring car into a drifter. Just slap a piece of PVC pipe over the tire and that is it - it is hard to find PVC pipe or something to easily slap over a MT tire.
