Ive been trying to drift my tl01 for ages but can't i keep spinning out.



my car has trf dampers, a tamiya esc, ajustable a stering arm set and a 23t super stock motor (running on sliks) and tl01 speed tuned gear set

yea me too. ive beein trying to drift for about two days now, and it cant seem to get it well. i have a kyosho mudstar possibly, (i dont know themodel). its RWD , and i put abs on the back and electric tape on the front wheels. i have a team orion 19x2 motor with ajustible timing. everytime i try to drift my car just spins out. is it because my motor is too fast for drifting? do i need more torque or soemthing?? help!!

b4 i got my esc and dampers my msc and stock springs made my car roll. maybe i should get new types of tyres wat type is just a bit more gripier than sliks [&:][&:][&:]

yeh what you really want is 4wd, I do large oval drifts with stock rally tyres with my landmax2. Drifting with rwd is difficult just as driving in snow with rwd is difficult.

I have a stock tl-01 and i can drift, just put some electrical tape around all the tires.

I would strongly suggest using dual-rate steering until your skill improves. If you limit your steering inputs you will find that you can control the angle and speed of the drift with throttle. Then as you get better, ease yourself into using full steering again.

There are a number of problems with drifitng a rwd rc car. Things like weight distribution are high on the list (its like drifting a 911 or an NSX), but another huge issue is the fact that you are getting full steering lock with a very small input to the controller. Can you imagine if your real car was like that? if you turned the steering wheel 45 degrees and got full lock? You wouldn't be able to drift a real car that way either. SO use a dual-rate controller and set the dual rate very high, and then go practice practice practice
