So happy, I just sealed a deal for a TL-01... here's what comes with it:
3 1200 mAh packs (I have 2400's I use)
3 Chargers (god knows why)
2 Motors (P2k Pro and Stock)
Futba ESC
Acrons TX and RX???
3 Bodies, Mustang, Beamer, and Some other one
8 sets of tires TOTAL
What should I use as a setup for it for drifting?? I was thinking this:
P2k Pro Motor
Batts
ESC
Body
LMK what you think... also what are the essentials of drifting that I should be looking for?

All you really need is ABS tires.
I've never seen the inside of the diffs on a tamiya, but I would assume they are just a spider gear open diff, so you might consider some springs to help lock them a little, thats what I did with my HPIs

if youre going to be drifting don't make it rear wheel drive as all it does is makes it hard to control the drifts
if you havent got drift tyres insulation tape on the tyres is handy.

There have been a few TL-01 Posts resurected from the Dead as people are slowly picking them up off the net as they become cheaper and cheaper..

Actually, six threads that were all 4 years old were dredged up by the same member who was playing around. The posts have been removed so you can't see them. Now that these threads at the forefront, however, they may stay around a bit.
It's true that many older chassis' have been had pretty cheap, too!
Good point, magnat [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

Depends what sort of Style of Drifting you want to do ??
The TL-01's make good rally cars for the smooth gravel Rally style drift
Or you can save money and get a HBX Lancer which is a Tamiya TL-01 Clone with the minor exception of the front bumper Bar mount...

Here is the Tamiya TL-01.
