I was looking in to starting to drift my car, and I herd that you could use pvc pipe to make drift tires but I don’t know what to do so, if you guys could tell me what I need and what to do, it will help me out it will be nice.

1.ok you need to measure the size of your rims (width wise).
2.Now got to Home Depot or some other store that would carry ABS or PVC Pipe.
3.Try to find a pipe that your rim fits snug in.
4.Once you have found the size, see if someone can cut them for you (unless you want to do it yourself).
5. Pick up some PVC Cement and Primer for the glue (it is extremly strong and will be difficult if you want to remove the ABS or PVC from the rim., so make sure you want it on those rims and no others).
6.After you have glued the rims you are set to go (let the glue set about an hour to make sure it dries).
I hope i have given enough info for ya. if you have any questions email me at [email protected] My YIM is Greasysnowball2000 im ussually invisible so leave me a message. if im not on i will respond as soon as i get on.

do you need drift tires to drift? and doesn't the pvc slide around alot, i got a tamiya TA04 Corvette and it's awd, but if u put pvc for tires dont they just spin and not move?

im gonna be trying the ABS plastic drift method tonight..gonna go to home depot and buy some 2" ABS plastic tube for my new wheels...i was thinking since my nitro is AWD it would just spin but i was also thinking that if i used my foams in front and abs in the rear id be able to kick out the rear easier and still have traction up front...i dunno..guess ill have to try it and see what happens

no, i tried using just pvc in the rear, it doesn't work. U have to use them all the way around. I ended up just putting the pvc over my rubbers all the way around, it's so much fun

I buy myself some Black ABS pipe in the right ID (inner diameter) from McMaster Carr and turn them on my lathe. I chuck in the pipe and cut pieces off the width of the rims I'll be using. then once i have a few i chuck each one back in the lathe so i can turn out a little channel for the out side lip of the rim to sit in. so it actually looks like a tire. then after that i round off the corners a little with a hand file while they are still turning on the lathe. they come out looking really nice, but that changes real fast once they get on the car. it scratches up very quickly. just a tip - i use a little bit of RTV (silicone Sealant) between the rim and the ABS tire to prevent slippage.

oook so if ur drifting a nitro i will suggest getting some real drift tires meant for nitros.....for me pvc or abs dosent have enuff traction and all u do is 360'z so i would suggest HPI'z tires or any others made for drifting tire.

omg integra, whats with the z's? why is it so difficult to use an s, replacing s with z make you look like you cannot spell. Anyway i had a go at drifting my nitro buggy. It was so much fun ^_^ i had an empty celo-tape roll which was wide enough to cut in half and put on the back wheels (with the tyres on.) Because it was such a tight fit, no glue was needed.
