[X(]Does anyone know if Yokomo Rims and tires fit the Tyco Drift Kings?

Oh, I'm ordering the HKS Hyper Silvia.... I hope you guys are happy. I only got one because, I wanted something pro! But Drift Kings still are fun!

first off i have bought tyco rc when i was young and they dont last a week. its true it does somewhat drift but nothing like the tamiya brands and other brands that come from hobby shops. pluse tyco uses cheap items in there cars. best bet is to save your money and buy in rtr. or get your self in xmod with 4wd that little think is awsome. must of hit rocks hundredes of times and still runs great and drifts great.

of course those wheels will fit! (<--- Being sarcastic here...)

plz people, if you're buying rc cars at toys'r us or radioshack for yourself, you should seriously think twice before you buy it.

my cousin bought a drift king...[:'(] i was gonna smack him!
he wanted to show me how wel it drifted. [X(] bahaaaaa! that's a good one.
he tought they were fast too... my schumacher mission whooped that little thing's ***** without me even having to touch the throttle!

then i slapped my ABS's on to show him what real drifting is.[>:]
he cried

next day he sold it on ebay and started to save up for a real rc car...[8D]

Can someone tell me how fast Drift Kings go stock by putting it on a TredMill. Also, Drift Kings DON"T SUCK!! All you need is a faster motor which a Hobby guy at Radio Shack is making me. After that your basicly ready to compete with Tamiya or even Yokomo cars.

i thought this whole forum was about hobby grade not things you buy a toy's r us and radioshak (what has the world come to)

It Says RC Universe and therefore is open to all RC's.. It is Not RC Universe for Only a Few RC's.

Back to the Point..

Drift Kings are OK if you want to be stuck with a non adjustable Chassis with parts that if they break it is a Throw away Item..
You will need more then a Motor Upgrade to Outslide a Stock TT-01 or Even a HBX TL-01..

In Short, Buy one only if you want to muck around, take it to a rc drift club and you will be laughed at .

there's no way such a thing can do 40.

like newbdrifter said, maybe if you tow it with a nitro....

how did u test the 35-40 miles per hour? (and thats a pretty wide range if you ask me)
there's no way a threadmill would go 40 mph (you'd be killing yourself)

you can let anything go fast, but the question is, can they handle it? the DK's are not adjustable in any way,
so i would think they get very jumpy at higher speeds (no oil-filled shocks)

i seriously dont know why u people bash this drift king.
i picked one up today and its insanly fast for 30 not 40 not 60 not 70
30 friggen dollars. and who care about toy grade and hobby grade,
the real hobby is taking a 30 dollar toy and turning it into a "hobby grade" car.

what kind of hobby is buying expensive cars in fear of crashing em
thats no fun.

ne one who likes or has this car
we can team up to mod it.
im just curious as to how far i could take this.
lol
bascially we need a way to use lipo batteries with it without frying the board, and setting in a brushless motor
and better grip tires would do some justice.

ill be glad to show these people the true hobby in drift kings.
btw we needa rename it to drift masters.
get the job done with half the cost and you actually have fun.

Ok Here is the Deal...

You spend money on Turning a Toy RC into an Even Faster Toy RC , in the end it is still a Toy..

Drift the Drift King till it Breaks then buy a Hobby spec RC and Swap the Wheels and Shell over..

It will never performa as Good a TT-01 even if you manage to Put a 5.5 Brushless into it

Why is it called a Toy RC??

1. Unmodifiable... Good luck pushing more then 7.2 Volt without frying the Board..
2.. It has Very little if any spares available for it.., so when its Bevel gears go it all over rover/

morning all... just got online and how funny is this topic... hell i would never go and buy a toy from toys' r' us to drift with, unless i didnt realy want to drift and wanted a car to look at, my opionion is get a proper rc car, like magnat said, its a toy... nothing else, if thats all you want buy one..... if you want to realy understand drift, and i mean this in the nicest way..( not just because you saw the film..lol ) them get a tt01 or something like a sprint 2, if you cant afford it save up, i have to do this for upgrades, like everyone has to...
then you can modify your car 2 experience the car and drifting in many ways...

I went down to fry's the other day to buy a new hdd with a friend. We walked through the toy section (on the way to hdd area) when my friend saw the drift king. He said "yo, i hella want one of those..." He got ***** slapped right there and then (not too hard of course)

Anywho, i am not a drifter (monster trucks ftw), so i don't have much input on the actual topic.

BTW: this jsut got me thinking, what would happen if you stuck tiny wheels on a savage or tmaxx?!? It would be quite funny i presume.
