Would you suggest to build a Drift Car from scratch or buy a kit or RTR? If scratch what parts would u suggest? If kit which one? If RTR which one? I am also trying to stick to electric since thats what seems to be the preferred type of car for drifting. Also is there any book/mags based mostly on R/C Drifting.
Extra Info - No i am not new to R/C cars and yes i am new to drifting R/C and electric cars so if these are dumb questions I'm sorry.

I have the Yokomo RTR drift car and although I am satisfied with it I wish I had just purchased another RS4 Nitro car. The Yokomo tires will work with the HPI and the RS4 is a better investment IMHO. I spent more for the Yokomo when the RS4 is cheaper and faster.

1. a rtr is best. a kit you would need a radi and servos. and painting the body.ehh to much work.
2.electic is easyer than nitro. and electric is better like recharging batterys and such. make sure your car is 4wd.
3. no books on r/c mags now.

You should go with a kit for a number or reasons, probably the best being that you will know how to fix your own car. You also get to choose what radio, motor and servo you get so you'll be set up right off the bat rather than settle for the weak equipment in RTRs. [:'(] With electric you have a very large variety of models to look at from Associated, Yokomo, Tamiya, HPI etc etc... You're going to want a 4WD since RWD is pretty tricky to control. You can get spend anywhere from $150 and on. All depends on how serious and adjustable of a chassis you want. I find Nitro to be easier but thats just me.
Anywho, my HPI's could take an extreme beating whereas I just snapped some silly mount on my Yoke from sliding into the grass. [&o]
But oh well, I just like the performance that the nitro's come with out of the box.

so rtr is best i think. and for nitro....nitro cost money every time you run it so electric .and you dont have to worry about the engine
