my notion is (no offense),
if you want to buy a XB,and you dont want to upgrade your car, go for TT-01
if you want to enjoy the full build process,TB-02 give you more things to do when you waiting the body paint drying,because it more complicated,more adjustable
TT-01 live for ppl just want to enjoy more Drive
TB live for who want more and more and mooooore.
and,mike i think ya want more LOL, the day you trip come beijing , a super discount I promise,maybe 130 bucks per TB02 with full bearing ^-^

Let me say this, you do NOT need all the adjustability of an RVo, or another type of car. On my TA05, I have the camber set a 0 all the way around. In drifting adjustability is not what makes the car drift good, it is mainly the driver. I think its a good starting chassis.

I have a large stable of RC cars, buggies, dragsters, and trucks. I have been drifting my 4tec 3.3 nitro but it's difficult due to the power. I just got a TT-01D to get into drifting. This will be my first electric so i need advice on batteries please. Which should I run with budget being no object?

Why is getting a TT-01D a stupid move???
watch some videos of 'em run, they seem to be great cars and they have a huge following
I will soon get my first TC and am looking at the TT-01D, the HPI Cup Racer, and the Ofna JL-10e.
I think that for drifting or anyone not running faster than a stock class, the entry level cars can be OK. I'm sure OFNA and TAMIYA build good stuff.. come on guys, we're not talking about e10's here LOL i've seen 2, one was junk and the other had some bling.... but really the TT-01 seems good for anyone right on up to club level racing...

i bought a tt01r type e and it comes with everything but ball diffs and sway bars i got it for 160 then i put in a 5.5 BL and sway bars with ball diffs and man can that thing slide even with normal street tires going sideways isnt hard at all just my opinion though total i have about 300 in mine and couldnt be happier i am going to put the steering link from 3 racing and a graphite chassis upgrade then ill be done with it.

WOW!!!! I see this has been dug up from the under world 
Many years on and I decided to get a TT01D only just this year to compete in our local TT01 class. I actually first used my TA04 and then sold that to get a TA05IFSR. The TT01 is never going to be on par with a TA05 even after I threw many Tamiya hops ups at it but I will say this......it requires much more concentration and effort to knock off some perfect drifts compared to a pro chassis and for this I think it is a good beginner platform. Once you have mastered a TT01 you can drive anything!!!
There is much more slop in the whole setup but I suppose you cannot expect much for the price and it was never desinged to be a pro chassis....just an entry level basher that could stand up to many a beating....which they do!
I locked the rear diff on mine from day 1 by pouring hot glue in it and used lots of anti wear grease to try and get the front diff to be tight (almost like tightening up a ball diff) however as it gets hot it lossens up!

i love my type e even though it is an entry level type car i think the handling is spot on i put a 240 oz servo in it and with the stabilizers and my setup i think it does really good you know, i use it for both drift and rcgt comps in my area overall it is the best 800 ive spent on one car. lol
