We just finished up our RS4. It has 2 sets of drifting tires, and 2 sets of racing tires (To take to our local oval track). The car is our first venture at drifting, and we were hoping to get some tips on how to do it right. It's pretty nasty outside so we're putting off the first run, but when we do get out there what can we expect to see? We are hoping it will be pretty good at drifting with the same (Or similar) setup as the one we plan on maintaining for oval racing, but we're not sure. The link is below...

What are some things to expect with this car and the custom drift tires? What are some things we can do to get it to handle better? What are some things we can do to to make it drift for a long time, yet still run a stable line? ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!

well it depends on how the car is set up, how many turns is the motor? What kind of material are the tires made out of, and what kind of settings does the car have right now? Just simple stuff like that can determine a lot, if you have a low turn motor, with pvc tires, you will expect some spuratic drifts, maybe losing control, pitting, or burnouts, and such. You'll have to get out there to see how your car responds to drifting, and then from there make some tunes. To compensate for oversteer and no traction what so ever, you can tighten, or lock the rear differential, also try having your suspention arms parrelel to the ground and the hubs perpendicular to the arms, ive heard that helps a lot with control and better drifts. Theres a lot more stuff that can contribute though...
See how your car responds first, then come back and report, and a lot of the guys here can help you out.
Have fun!!!!

Well guys, since we have been getting questions about the electronics that we are using in this car, I decided to take some more shots with the electronics installed. Everything fits in nice and snug, and critical parts are far enough away from each other too keep interference to a minimum. Check it out! www.TeamPlatinumRacing.com/RS4.html

what suspension setup do you use? I drift my rally from time to time with the stock setup and it is very controllable. it works best in the rain, or (to be safe) just after it finishes raining and the ground is still wet. I have found that venom magnetics pre-glued tires
offer enough grip to make it controllable, yet let the car break loose easily enough to keep a nice drift going.
