Default How to Get into RC Drifting on the Cheap

Ok,. Alot of People are asking how to get into rc Drift as Cheap as possible.. Here is a Very Quick and Straight to the Point..

HBX-TL-01 off E-bay

They Are Either a HBX Lancer or HBX Skyline and can Be scored Pretty Cheap.
They are Fully Upgradeable and have Full aftermarket Support.
They will drift Out of the Box with a Set of PVC tyres.
They come with a Lousy Charger and a Lousy 1700Nicad Battery but this Can be Fixed with a Battery and Charger Upgrade.

Ok, so they are Better then a Drift king, Will allow you to get Sliding and if a Part Breaks, they Can use Tamiya TL-01 Parts..

Skyline

Lancer

With a New Shell and Some Rims

Man Who did the thread digging !!

Oh well

They are good value for money. They use Tamiya TL01 parts and despite having really cheesy decals on their shells they can be turned into good drifters for very little outlay.

They do need a Better Battery and charger and the ESC has been known to play up but with the money saved, these can be easily remedied..

Digging an old thread..

They Are Either a HBX Lancer or HBX Skyline and can Be scored Pretty Cheap.
They are Fully Upgradeable and have Full aftermarket Support.
Where can you buy parts for the tl-01? There's nothing but NIB HBXs on ebay for $110..

Thanks.

Yeah the good Old TL-01 may be a noisey chassis compared to a TT-01 but I would go the TL-01 over an E10...

As for parts : plenty of Hobby stores and E-bay stores Still have parts for the HBX/Tamiya TL-01..

You just need to find what part you need by Downloading a TL-01 Manual and finding the part number...
