Hello first of all im totaly new to this fine forum

Now to the point im totally new to rc drifting but as a first car i still want to have a good drift car and wile viewing some topics i saw that alot of u drift freaks:P got the TT01 or the drift spec version

so im wondering wich one would be the smarting one to choose if i want to start whit the drifting as soon as possible and since the drift spec has the rims and engine etc made for it.

Engine? LOL. It's a motor. Engine's run off fuel. All that aside, your choice should consider your budget and what you want to do with your car. If you have your heart set on the TT-01 series of cars, I would choose the TT-01R. Sure it doesn't come with a body or wheels, but it does have the same hop ups as the TT-01D plus adjustible arms, aluminum shaft and alloy motor mount. At least that's what I remember.

The only thing that makes it 'Drift Spec' is the fact that it comes with drift tires. Other than that, it's pretty much a TT-01R with a couple hop ups missing.

First of all the tt-01d comes with adjustable arms and ball bearings. It also comes with drift tires which I have found are a little to grippy to drift on anything but carpet. Also the aluminum shaft and motor mount are like 13 bucks plus shipping off tower and it will run you more for the body and tires than that easily. If i were you and if you want to buy new I would get the tt-01d all you need is a servo, radio and transmitter. Bear in mind though that you can find decent used stuff for alot less. Also the tt-01d is a kit. It's not hard to build but bear that in mind. I would also recommend getting some abs it make it easier to drift i have found. Also bear in mind that you don't need to mod the crap out of it when you first get it. Just upgrade as your skills improve and you learn the car.

Does it really come with adjustible arms? Everywhere I've seen and read, and people that I know have it, have said that it comes with fixed camber links.

Yes the D has adjustable settings and the stock one Doesnt

While the D is Nice, It is Not 100% Essential..
You can Hop up a TT-01 to a TT-01 D if Your really like, it just depends on Your finances at the time as to whether you get the TT-01 or the TT-01D

Personally if you are debating between a TT01 or the TT01-D and finance is a bit of a problem at the present moment I would personally wait the week or the month to be able to buy the TT01D as that it comes with certain hop-ups that are necessary like for example the ball bearings. That alone is priced more than the price difference between the two kits and with the TT01D you receive many more hop-ups which have been discussed within many threads in the drifting threads and also the TT01 thread.

The reason why we choose the TT-01 is Some of them come out as XB Pro Versions which are RTR..
Some poeple are on a Tight Budget so the TT-01 can be slided out of the box and can be upgraded down the path in the future..
So it gets them driving sooner..
The TT-01 D is still a Great Chassis and Yes does come with the Hop Ups you need but requires assembly and Time to build.. Some just want to dive in and hop up later, hence the reason for the TT-01 XB Pro..

People also tend to forget they will need Radio gear aswell and dont factor this into the cost..

As the owner of a nitro T-MAXX i bought the enzo RTR TT-01 simply for the ease of use and the fact that it requires almost 0 maintenance. i love my nitro but the after run stuff can get a little annoying. however blasting 45+ mph offroad is great. My new enzo will get upgrades later just wanted to drift without a whole lot of hassle

Very well said, would you rather buy a TT01 or wait a month save up some money and purchase the TT01-D?

I felt the TT01-D was the better buy do to the savings in regards to the upgrades that would need to be made.

Post up progress reports on the new cars and also invest some money into a camber gauge as it will assist you with better setting up your car. It's worth the money for one!

If you don't want the Subaru body you can always sell it at the Aloha Flea Market or Kam Swap Meet. You can pick up new bodies at Aloha Hobbies or Ebay. Either way, it's your choice. I would definitely invest in a TB Evolution IV or V chassis and a brushless motor, it'll help you to keep up with the blue Skyline. Enough said.
