first timer on rc building

watsup all
i'm new to the rc world and i'm gonna get a tt-01d kit. i got some question i'm worried about. first wats teh difference between nicd and nimh? how come only certain charger can charge nimh? 2nd if i get a cheap radio like around 50 bucks from towerhobbies, will that have some good distance.

i'll give this a shot. NICD stands for nickel-cadmium, i think thats right. and NIMH stands for Nickle metal hydride.only certain chargers will work because NIMH requires alot more of a charge, which will burn up most chargers. the main difference is Nimh will give you longer run times, but of course their more $$$$... as for the radio, which radio are you looking at? cant really tell you the range if i dont know what your looking into.. hope i helped, and if im wrong someone please correct me

Nicads have memory and have to be completely drained before they should be charged. For batts you wanna get nimh and if you want a good starter radio go with a jr x 2i or a futaba magunm 2pl.

is a TA05 good for drifting? cuz my local hobby shop only has this one and he said its popular right now

ta05 is good for drifting if you dont have rocks and pebbles to rip apart the belts. or if you can fabricate up some sort gear cover
