Default Starting with a TA03F....?

Would it be smart to start with a TA03F pro drift spec chassis kit 1/10 4WD? I have some questions about it:

Do you think they are really rare, how much more time till they become very hard to get?
You can use any tamiya main part with it right? (speed ctrl, motor, etc)
Are the parts hard to get? Think I should buy one from ebay? What is its lifespan?

I mean, if they wont be available for much longer, might as well get one since I heard they're great for drifting right? Thanks

Yeah, you could start with an 03f, they aint that complex but they are rare. Tamiya discontinued them already, you might be lucky and find one in a shop but its prob E-Bay for you mate.

Parts aint much of a problem, theres a good few companies sellin spares, hop-ups and alloy parts for them, I took mine from a standard tub to it's current spec this year, they are just like any other chassis regarding esc's and motors.

The only thing you will need to change are the Tamiya drift tires and the crappy plastic shocks that come with the kit, other than that its just the best drifter out there, there is a whole load more info on the 03f on other RC Drifting websites which I am not allowed to link to.

Heres a quick pic of mine a couple months back and one how it is now,

He's right. It's a good place to start, and a good place to finish too.

The Spare parts have virtually all been discontinued, but if you go to certain lengths you can find some spares. Apparently; they are a strong, long lasting chassis, which is easy to believe. I am still skeptical, so I've been getting spares in for the last month or so; but I don't have the chassis yet!

I've been through 3 TT01's; but they aren't the best. Spend more=get more. I hiope you don't end up getting an 03F before me....haha

Good luck to you,

Chris.
