I have been driving R/C for awhile but I am interested in getting an electric drifter. I want something RTR and affordable. I know nothing about drifters so I what something nice that I can use in my driveway or parking lot.

Sprint 2 is also very nice but you need to make sure the Surface you drift on is relatively debris free as they can chew belts if a stick or small stone gets jammed in the diff casing

Man yokomo do a RTR style setup for the D1 series cars they sell currently i mean u gotta build the sucker but its all there i just got one last week ..
Mind you i am in Australia but i really don't think thats gonna change anything
In the kit i got the complete car unassembled plus shell, rims, drift tyres single ring , nosram 21t motor nosram ESC and 1600mah batt all new radio gear and a fast charger with auto peak detection and everything took a few hours to assemble (Dodgy translation in instructions) plus paint time.
now got one wikkid fun drift0r

yokomo parts are a pain to get due to a single importer into Aus. 3 week wait on parts is the average.
Thats why the Sprint 2, TC3 and TC4 and TT01 are the main Chassis Down under..

Theres also a way to narrow it down.
1. What is your Budget?
2. What kind of terrain to is your street like(for street drifting purposes)
3. What is your driving style?(Ex. Agility, Durability, etc)

then a TC3/4 with an aftermarket ESC and motor combo will do wonders. I recommend any Novak, Intellespeed, or LRP Esc w/trinity/reedy combo

i agree with spartan-drifter. I have a tc4 myself. It was ready-to-run (had to buy battery and battery charger) when i got it...it came with a 15 turn motor which is already descently fast and all i did was put on new rims and pvc tires. This would fit your budget. The first time i took it out drifting was on a concrete driveway and it worked fine. As far as durability goes...just dont run it into anything. I got drift happy one day and wanted to do a FULL speed drift...(boy was i stupid!)...and i hit the curb breaking the stock suspension arms. I eventually bought and upgraded almost everything for the tc4 that way i dont have to worry too much about breaking anything. But like i said...if you dont hit anything...you'll be fine. Agility...well...it's not as agile as the yokomo drift car kit...but it's still hellava lota fun to drift with it!

TC3/TC4 are Great.. Seen some Wicked Moves from them..
They are more Agile then a TT-01 but not as Bullet proof.
I Don't like the Yokomo (Yes I have Drifted one and it felt too light)
Mainly I am against Yokomo for there Price and Parts are not freely available here in Australia where as HPI,Tamiya,Team Associated,LOSI and Shumacer(Spelling) are..
Best way to check what chassis is right for you is to check your LHS for there parts range and what they stock..
No use getting a Chassis to find out you cant get parts for 3 weeks...

yOKS are expensive and hard to come by. But they hold up really well. However, if you're not one for patience, go with somethig else. The TC4 (as magnat suggested) is nice.

Man,believe me ,check out the nikko 1:22 scaled nissan 350z. It comes RTR and has a bonus of 4 drifting tyres from Falken. I'm new at this, but there was a competition in my city going on and I finished 15th out of 63 candidates!!
With just a few modifications, you have a drifting car with good accelaration and drifting capabilities!

What happens when the Nikko Busts an upper Control arm or a Bevel Gear? Like a Drift King it has had it..
Go the TT-01, TC4 or HPI Sprint 2..
