Default Finding the Right Chassis for You

Many New RC Drifters pop on Here and just go

Whats the Best Chassis for Drift ?

Its not that Easy to Answer without us Knowing a Few Simple things from you..

Everyone has there own Ideal Chassis but it may not suite you.. There is No Ideal Chassis...

What WE ( Experienced RC Drifters) need to know is the Following

1. Budget. This not only means How much initial Outlay you want to spend but also the running costs of keeping Your RC Drifter on the road

2.Where Do you intend on Drifting?
Do You intend on Social Car park Bashing or Going Pro track drifting, Or Both..
Yes, the Surface Your going to drift on does have a HUGE factor on what chassis we can recommend as others are Great on track but are not good in a car park

3. What does your Nearest Hobby Store Stock?
This is also important, If E-bay is Your Hobby store then you will have to wait Ages for parts to arrive.
Not much point us reccommending Yokomo if Your Local Hobby store only Stocks Team Associated.
Do a Little bit of research into what Brands you have Access to..

All these factors are important..

I will give you an Example of a HUGE case of misguided information..
Lets call the People Involved Team A and Team Be

Team A : " I wanna get into RC Drifting what chassis should I buy"

Team B " Yokomo is the shiz hommie Buy an SSG and go sliding"

Team A : "OK thanks"

Team A buys the SSG Only to find out he has One major problem..
He can't get Yokomo parts for 6 weeks and puts him out of his local drifting scene..
Team A is now Angry at Team B, when it is Team A's fault for not outlining what he wished to do..

So In order to Avoid Team A's problem happening to you, help us to help you buy just supplying the basic info for us to help you....

The more You help us the More you help yourself.

We dont mind if you have no Idea as thats what we are here for.. but the more you supply the better the information we can provide..

just because it is marketed for drifting doesnt mean it is good for drifting =D

sure there is the Sprint 2 Drift but its been used wayyy before that even came out so it is proven as a good drift chassis

Amen Brother

I drift as Sprint 2 RTR

Havent got a Single "Drift Branded part" on it

Best advice for Noob RC Drifters is : Don't buy anything with Drift Written on it, Its Marketting Hype, do your research then ask questions then Buy"

A D-Box will not make you a better drifter..

Noobs Get confused with all the terminology and Drift Techniques, it makes it easier for US

If we know what they intend on doing with it and if they can afford it..

We really hate to shatter dreams and pop bubbles but your not going to get a Yokomo on a TT-01 Budget..

Briliant! But would you agree that even though you don't have anything on your sprint 2 that some, not all, cars do need a little aftermarket attention.

Some Cars do, Like the TT-01.

Stock, Its all Plastic and plastic Bushes and High RPM = Wear.
Plastic Propshaft and heavy handed Acceleration = Snap.
So we advice drifters to get the alloy shaft and Bearing kit. Everything else is an option..

Locking the rear Diff on a TT-01 can help counteract the steering bias it has with the Battery being mounted to one side..

So Some chassis do need mods, others dont need them but you can do them..

dont get me wrong though the sprint 2 drift is great =D comes with a cool body and some drift radials (which are awesome btw)

but yeah i started out with a TT-01 with alot of aftermarket upgrades...ball bearings, shaft, and some unnecessary upgrades like alu steering rack and a battery strap
but if you are gonna get a TT-01 just get basica upgrades like ball bearings and a shaft...and definitely some oil shocks but my only problem about the TT-01 is that you really want to upgrade later on..

I Still have my TT-01 and it is a totally different RC to Slide then the Sprint 2.
Sprint 2 feels more smooth but the good Old TT-01 has Great off the line Acceleration..

well its because Shaft driven has direct tourque...the power response is instantaneous HOWEVER...belt driven has a very smooth power curve...very fun to drive...but it really depends on how you drive on what you like
