your best bet is to do a search, there is a new thread asking the same question every day, basically any car can drift as long as it has 4 wheel drive and some minor power to break the back end loose. i prefer nitro, so i drift my ntc3

That's an EASY one.
The BEST 1:10 drift car is Yokomo's MR4TC chassis. Any pro drifter will tell you that and most amateurs that have been doing it for awhile will tell you. It's bottom level chassis in stock form is better than most hopped-up chassis out there now. It's one of the few chassis you can get and NEVER change and still out drift hop-up chassis. Check the D10 RC series. That's what they use. They have the best track record for that.

I just got my TC4 the other day and I have to say that it drifts quite well, easy to get side ways and still easy to control. I don't have a lot of RC drifting expierence, so I may not be the best judge of that. I had no problem getting it sideways and making S curve drifts with it. I looked at the Yokomo cars and while they are nice my LHS couldn't make promises on parts, so I went with the TC4.

sounds good on paper. I have both the TC4 and the MR4TC. Yok still reigns supreme. as far as 1:1, there isn't a car made for drifting specifically. So, while "sil80" was funny for about .0000002 seconds, it's never beat the Mopar Viper SRT-8. THAT'S funny to me. Best 1:1 drifting car would be...oh..right...there isn't one. Some really nice balanced cars. AE86 is a good beginner car, cuz it teaches you to drive. The 240 (from 180-S15) is well rounded. I'm a fan of the 350Z...more so cuz it's what I did most of my drifting with. However, it's kinda heavy for someone who's inexperienced. Oddly enough, a supercharged and gutted 5.0 is really fun. try it.
Best. Yok. Hands down.

Okay. REALLY? How fast is your nitro. Cuz my TC4 has beat a couple of nitros on the street and it's electric. I mean, I know that stock v stock, nitro is pretty fast, but a simple motor upgrade and nitro is no longer "fast". If that's your only argument for nitro..or that it "looks cooler" which I've yet to asertain, then stick with that. But i've never seen a nitro at any drift event, so how many people are REALLY looking at nitro?

DUDE what i mean by fast as in fast drifting and my nitro goes 70 75 yes its not the fastest but im not looking for speed man and last time i check you hardly ever get to realy use that much power on a track. anyways i dont use my car on tracks where i live there isnt any and i just dont want to travel 1hour to the closes place to race them. anyways i love nitro i used to be into electric its just not as fun for me. electic as people in many forms have said its easy. and easy is not what i want. i tip my hat to you agian good sir...

As you've moted in the 1:1 cars there ia just about never a "best" item.
RC cars is one of these. Considering all drifting is is a well set up, good preforming car, i belive that would make the current world championship elec car the "best" that would be the Hotbodies Cyclone. But yet its not.
Let me put it simply, Whats best Chevy or Ford.
its all personall opinion.
So there for people stop B**** fighting about whats "best" and just state what you prefer.
Personally i think the yoks s*** compered to an Xray

That's horse pooo. There isn't a specific 1:1 car MADE for drift. Hence, there is no best drift car. There are quite a few 1:10 chassis that are already set up for drifting. Piece for piece and part for part, Yokomo has one of the best (it's THE best, but to be diplomatic, I'll just say ONE of the best) set-up and balanced chassis out of the box to handle all of your UBER sideways needs.
And best performing car doesn't mean best drifter in any way shape or form. That'd be like saying the ASM S2K would be the BEST drifter because it's one of the bets performing cars. Furthermore, why are we comparing the 1:1 world with the 1:10 world. They're not really comparable. A) (as I've stated) there's no 1:1 car manufactured to go sideways b) the physics of drifting on a 1:10 scale are in scarcely comparable to 1:1 drifting. So, we can't really compare the two.
And WHOOOOOOOOO drifts an Xray? I mean really? You? No. You don't. I understand you wanna be different and go against the grain. Don't wanna be a bandwagoneer cuz it's "cool" to be different and be "individual' and all that. Not knocking it. That's great. It's just like the whole "I drift Nitro cuz that's cooler and it's noisy" crap. But seriously. C'mon. I mean really? Xray? really? REALLLLLLLLY? nO. Of course not.
Yok's still the best.
And whichever car company is more reliable, better customer service, etc, would be "better". It's simple measurable data. But you knew that. Yeah. You knew that.
don't mind me. I'm just passing thru.
just wanted to sneak this in there:

Hop ups don't do anything to make your car drive better. More often than not, they just make the car look pretty.
