Drift Showdown Round 2 This weekend
Event: RC DriftClub "Drift Showdown" Round 2 of 6
Date: SUNDAY April 22nd, 2007
Location: BCRaceway Asphalt Track, Orange, California
Start Time: Open practice starts at 9:00am

Round 2 will be held in conjunction with Raffell Thompson of Bending Corners Raceway in Orange, CA. Located a block from the Orange Mall, the course is a permanent facility formerly used for on-road 1/10 and 1/12-scale racing. RC DriftClub will be the first drifting organization to use the facility for the purpose of Round 2 of our series.
PLEASE NOTE: The event date has been changed! Round 2 will be on SUNDAY APRIL 22ND, not Saturday April 21st.
Driving Directions
The track is at 2190 N. Canal Ave. Orange, CA 92865. Please read the following info to get to the track, because it's not in plain site from the parking area.
FROM L.A. AREA:
- Take the 60 or 10 freeway east
- Merge to the 57 freeway south
- Merge to the 91 freeway east
- Exit Tustin Avenue, turn right
- At Meats Avenue, turn right
- At Canal Street, turn right
- SCROLL DOWN to see how to get to the parking lot, and to the race track.
FROM RIVERSIDE AREA:
- Take the 60 or 10 freeway west
- Merge to the 57 freeway south
- Merge to the 91 freeway east
- Exit Tustin Avenue, turn right
- At Meats Avenue, turn right
- At Canal Street, turn right
- SCROLL DOWN to see how to get to the parking lot, and to the race track.
FROM PASADENA AREA:
- Take the 210 freeway east
- Merge to the 57 freeway south
- Merge to the 91 freeway east
- Exit Tustin Avenue, turn right
- At Meats Avenue, turn right
- At Canal Street, turn right
- SCROLL DOWN to see how to get to the parking lot, and to the race track.
FROM IRVINE/OC AREA:
- Take the 57 freeway north
- Exit Katella Avenue, turn right
- At Tustin Avenue, turn left
- At Meats Avenue, turn left
- At Canal Street, turn right
- SCROLL DOWN to see how to get to the parking lot, and to the race track.
HOW TO GET TO THE RIGHT PARKING LOT:
Follow the red line, park under the big yellow letters (LOL). Then, to get to the actual track, look at the image below:
From the parking lot you'll go along a pathway, behind the dodgeball court (I'm not kidding LOL), and you'll end up at the track.
If you need visual (I'm visual, I need this stuff) then look below:
When you get out of your car, look for the SUPER SPORTS GYMNASIUM sign. Go to the right side.
Walk to the right side of the sign, and you'll see a big tree. You're going the right way.
You'll see a pathway that goes around the Dodgeball arena. Yes, people play dodgeball there.
Take the pathway through the shade.
Ta da! You're there! The pit area will be on the left once you walk through the track gate.

The Islands
The inner curbs/islands are elevated slightly, but are chassis-friendly as long as you don't go perpendicular towards them. You can "ride the rail" or slide the nose of your car around (especially on the sweeper) and pull it off if you're good enough. Here's an example of the inner curb angle:
