nitro's generally dont make the best drifters, and im not sure if there is a rtr drifter (well there are, but you will still want to play with set up etc)

if your just learning to drift and you need best bang for you buck you should get electric. nitro eat tires on pavement and nitro's not cheap either. if i were you id start with a rtr elec and get some better batteries and a charger and some drift tires. hpi makes a sprint2 drift that drifts out of the box.

I drift my HPI Nitro RS4 Racer 2 and it drifts fine, but your best bang for the buck and the cheapest way to get into drifting would be electric. You can also do a lot more technical drifting with electric, but if you really want to go nitro go with a RS4 3 and that is going to set you back 300 bones new, but you might be able to buy a used one for pretty cheap on eBay or here on RCU.

If Your Just Beginning to Drift and are new to RC cars in General... then Dont Start with a Nitro..
Your Best Bet is to go Electric, there is no Tuning, Uses a renewable Energy Source and you wont get frustrated when the Damn thing just wont start...
Electrics have built in Fail Safes, Brakes and offer better degree of control for a beginner and wont cost a fortune to run..
An Electric can be drifted on home made Poly pipe tyres which cost next to nothing where as a Nitro on Polypipe tyres is a recipe for destruction.
Start with an Electric, then Move on to the Nitro once you have your car control up..
If Your Just starting out, I would look at the good old Drifter classic, the Tamiya TT-01.
If you can afford to Get a HPI Sprint 2 then I would Endorse it as it is a Brilliant Club racer and a great drifter as long as you are careful to inspect the rear belts frequently

well i have been in nitro rc planes for a while now.
but i guess i could go electric if you think it would be better for me. if you know anything about drifting rc you know more than me.
any ideas on electric RTR drifters?

a sprint 2 drift is 250 and the losi is 379 thats a big differnce in price. plus he will need better batteries and a charger if he doesnt have a one. plus the losi is new so no one knows how it will drive and handle. there arent as many hop ups for it. unless you have the cash to blow and can get losi parts easy id go with a sprint2.

No offense to you magnat, but I have heard a bunch of people say this and I just don't understand why. I have been drifting my RS4 Racer 2 on nothing but ABC pipe and never had a problem.

Clutches,Brake Shoes,Warped Heads and not to mention fuel costs...
Go with Electric, Its Easier,Costs Less and You wont get introuble using it at night drift meets..
