I am going to buy a tt-01 kit this friday and need some help. I am drawn between the TT-01R and TT-01D kits. I really want to try my skills at drifting.
Is it worth the extra money for the TT-01R?
Can these cars take a regular 6 cell battery? I see they use a 6 cell flat pack, but I only have regular standard 6 cell packs.

Well the tt-01r has some stuff that the others dont have, like the aluminum prop shaft and ball bearings.
Yes every touring car has to run 6 cell flat packs.

Has anyone seen a body that resembles the car from speed racer? I think it would be worth a whole lot of laughs. LOL
Is anyone running a stock TT-01D? Are you just blowing it to pieces from driving it? IS the Diff holding up?
Are the upgrades that come in the TT-01Rtruly a necessity?
Am I likely to break the plastic drive shaft?
Will the non-metal motor mount melt if I don't get one?
I read a lot of the FAQ/Newb threads, and didn't see these specific answers.
