Default Uber Noob needs help...

Hi all,

Im very interested in these drift RC stuffs and saw a couple of RC Drift vids that's totaly awesome.[X(]
and i have very little to no experience with RC before but interested to try out going sideways.
To make long story short, i've bought these used RC set frm a garage sale here in Perth fer AUD 50.
the ol' guy told me that his grandson is not playing with his toy anymore and they are moving away.
I have no idea if i could drift with these and need help to identify the chasis/motor/radio things that
i've bought to see if i could use it to drift. i've tried to turn it on once and it run like 5 mins then the batts died.[:'(]

Well, I just did the exchange rate and all that for only $43 US is a great deal.
Let's just break down just some of the stuff you got...

That charger alone is close to $200 brand new!

Trinity motor is $30

Orion Core Stock motor is $30

Tamiya Type RR motor is $43

Currently you're looking at $303 U.S. ($354 AUD) and I haven't even priced out the car, transmitter, or dischargers.
I think you got a pretty good deal

Ok as for your question. I can see that the car is 4WD. Yeah, slap some ABS or PVC (preferebly ABS) on those rims and you'll be drifting in no time.
If you can get access to the rear differentials and lock them, that will help some.

All in all great deal

Yeah, it was from a garage sale.
all those stuffs in an old cardboard box on the floor and ignored by people.
i just dust them off and buy them.

that aside, should i change the motor from the chasis to one of them 3 other motors?
or even the servo?
and should/how I lock the rear differentials?

thanks fer the feedbacks

Looks like all you need to do is get some ABS pipe and start practising.

Looks like its a Great Vigor could be the Drift model?

The V6 Motor I think is a 16x2T or an 18Tx2 so it will drift with some home made Polypipe Tyres..

I think they released it with a Holden Commodore Body on it?

i have no idea what body that it came in with, all i have is this dodge stratus (i think) body that came with the whole thing when i bought it at the garage sale.
i do seen one with a holden body though but i didnt look at the chasis.
about the v6 motor, is it suitable for drift? or should i change it to the other motor that i have?
thankx for the feedbacks

I think the GV ESC is a 15T ESC so the Core Motor would be an awesome one to drift with

im so sorry, but since im an uber noob, i have no idea what are you talking...
i assume GV stands for Great Vigor but what is a 25T ESC? and what is a Core Motor?
btw i've made some PVC tires but havent tried on drifting yet coz' im not sure the V6 motor could handle it.
i've also got my hands on a couple of Yokomo R-03 drift tires but havent tried them too.

Give it ago..

The Core Motor, its the Black one.. that has Core written on it.. Its made by Team Orion and is a Good Drift motor..

The V6 will take it, thats the good thing with Electric.. Its Easy to change a motor if needed...

so wack on the PVC tyres and give it a go...

$50 is the Bargain of the Century... the Pulsar 2 Charger is worth at least 4 times that much 2nd Hand!

Hey, i've tried it this evening and it was a hell of alot fun.
the PVC works like a dream, im goin sideways like there's ice on the road.
the yokomo drift tires has more grip though if compared to PVC.
the motor got pretty hot at the end of it, so i slapped on one of those
alum heat sink thingy that looks like an extruded comb on to the motor. dont know if it would help.

p/s i dont think the old guy who sold me these stuffs knew how much they worth. (neither do i)
he just want to get rid of them along with the furnitures and used clothes during the garage sale.
btw what kind of drift tires are you using magnat?

I use Polypipe... Its Black Irrigation pipe..50mm ID

It gives the Grip of ABS with the Run time of PVC...

Good Stuff..

I Also use Yokomo and Pitshimizu Drift Tyres but prefer the Polypipe..
