Default light buckets?

I was thinking about make some light buckets on my own, because the rc hobby isn't popular in my area.

i just need to know a few things about the light buckets that you guys purchase:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.are they powered by the main battery or do they use a separate battery?
2.What kind of batteries do they use? AA, AAA, C, D or the 9 volt one?

thanks for your responses guys..

Default RE: light buckets?

1 if you use the main battery is not good... cuz if it drains... u wont be able to throttle or stop the car and you will result on a crash

2 that depends, most light kits i have use, they operate with 9 volts battery. atleast the wires it brings, has been to conect a 9 volts.
