Default Sprint 2 problem!

I have a Sprint 2 (non-drift), it has been going crazy[sm=bananahead.gif]. I lost the pin that goes to the spur gear, and I replaced it but it has gone crazy on me. I has been
[ul][*] Underpowered[*] Short power busts, I mean it has been suddenly turning or shooting off, lasting only half a sec each.[*] No reverse.
[/ul]

I have tried new batteries & new motor, and many more...
I've taken it into my local hobby store. They had no clue what it was and new replacement parts are adding up to over $100 [:@] I have like 3 bucks left in the bank...
What should I do save money up, and buy a new one? Keep repairing?
At my local hobby store the TC4 is $230.

Thanks DAND....

^^^^ That's true, my rustler would do that all the time, so I changed to deans. Try that first.
