Hello I'm thinking of using my HPI nitro MINI rs4 for drifting. I'm not sure how many remember this car. It is a rs4 nitro shortened. I always did great against the regular rs4 in a race until they decided not to let this scale race with them. so it just sits on the shelf. I would like to turn it into a drfiter.would the wheel base be too short or will it help it is 208mm-255mm about 2-3 inches shorter then the regular rs4. Should I leave the 2 speed in? lock the rear end. and make abs tires.d-box??? i can drive but how much does it help in drifting. is it worth it??

hey its great to see another person from las vegas drifting. personally i would take the 2 speed out because it is not necessary to dirft. you will only be drifting low speeds anyways. i would lock the front and rear and if you can find out if hpi made a front one way diff, i would look into buying it, make drifting a lot more crisper. thats all up to you though. the d box is basically a gyro, it just keeps a center for a drift, personally i would rather learn to drift without it.

Its hard to keep your engine cool and in tune due to the slow speed and high revs but nitro drift is possible, electric seems to be the preferred choice for most of the top drifters around the globe tho
