like every new guy says what is a good cars to start with or brands... also is belt or shaft driven better?

everyone has there own preference. I have a yokomo belt driven and a losi xxx-s which is also belt. They are very smooth operating. I also have driven the tc4, tb02, tt01's. These are all shaft driven. I thought they worked well also. I suggest finding out what your local hobby shop carries most of for parts support. Then base your purchase off of that, or if you don't mind waiting a couple days, just order from the net. Also look at your buget. A xxx-s and tamiya cars can be had for around $100.00 on ebay ready to run. then think about radio's, motors(brushed or brushless) and speed controls.

they will both last long if you take care of them. Maybe you should look at the xxx-s. it has a sealed belt driven drivetrain. Do you plan on doing any racing?(onroad). If so, the belt has a tendency to be a little smoother. There are good brushed and brushless systems. brushless is starting to be the way to go because of the fact they are maintenence free. also have alot of power. they will also cost you a little more. right now, im running brushed and it does me just fine. one day i'll upgrade to brushless, but it's all about $$

that car is shaft driven also, very durable. bodies are thick and will take some hits also

from what iv read, belt driven is better for racing. this is cause the belt soaks up some of the power when you hit the thottle, thus giving you smother accelleration.

shaft driven is better for drifting, to break traction.

both are good though.

yup, alot of guys don't like the shaft driven for racing because they cause some good torque steer
