I think you will find that the HPI 1500mah Nicd will be a big let down... Get your Dad to read the info here on your post..

This Pack

will fit into the HPI Sprint 2 just as good

[img]http://www.tankzone.co.uk/images/acc16/rc/intellect3600.jpg[img]

as this pack... Its a 7.2V 6 Cell 3600mah Battery

The HPI Battery pack will last 6-7mins

The Intellect 3600mah will last nearly half an hour..

Please tell me you didnt Get this charger

This Charger puts out a Measly 300mah.. which means it will take A Whole 5 Hours to charge your 1500mah Nicd and wont charge the Newer Nimh Batteries..

This Charger is the Triton Junior and it can Charge Your Nicd 1500mah in closer to 20mins...
and recharge a 4200mah Nimh Battery in under 1 Hour..
It Charges Batteries at up to 5 amps..

Edit : ARRRGGGHHH the Pics are not showing!!!!

Please Bring your Dad to the Computer screen so he can read the following..

You don't have to get the Charger they say to on the Box.. and you definately do not have to stick with the HPI Nicd Batteries...

A Charger and Battery upgrade is definately advised in order to bring the HPI's performance to its Peak..

As I understand that most parents are on a tight budget, we can help you get products that are budget friendly and will get you into enjoying the hobby..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, Here is where I get a little Technical..

The HPI Charger you have bought has an output of 300mah... this Means, to charge that 1500mah Nicd takes 5 Hours... now thats a long time to be waiting around.
Over time, the Nicd Battery will develope a memory problem and with each re-charge, it will slowly loose its charge and eventually it will forget that it is a 1500mah Battery.

The New style NIMH have less memory effect and hold their charge longer but you will need a Nimh safe charger..

When looking for a Battery you need to look at the Mah rating.. the higher the number the longer it will run.. so a 3000mah Battery will last twice as long as a 1500mah.

Same thing when looking at Chargers... the Higher the output of the charger the quicker it will charge..

So as a Minimum recommendation some 3000mah batteries and a Battery charger rated at more then 3 amps is advised..

so as a Minimum upgrade
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...p?&I=LXHUJ9&P= 3 of these Venom 3000mah Nimh will see you running your car all day with minimum down time

and a Battery charger like this
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRST9&P=M MRC Super Brain will charge the 3000mah Batteries in a Very short 45mins with its 4.5amp rating..

Now you don't have to go with what I have posted up, your Dad and your self can decide what products you wish to get, and if your not sure, post up some links to some products and we can help you to select products which will lead you to having a good time rather then a hard time...

Edit : I re-wrote the post to sound less harsh...

Default RE: 7.2V battery all gone where to get?

There are alot better...
It Depends on how much money you are willing to spend??

The Best Batteries are made by Intellect They come in Various Branded packs with different Mah..

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLFW9&P=6

As for the best charger, most chargers are 12 Volt meaning they need a Full sized car battery or a 12V power source...

A Wall charger takes longer to charge as they have to break down current from 240V to 7.2Volt....
a 12Volt DC charger is faster as it only has to break down 14.4V (12Volt) to 7.2V
so a Charger like this
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMAJ0&P=7
has a 7 amp charge rate

In this hobby, you really do get what you pay for, so if you spend a little, you get very little.. spend alot, you get alot..

If I was to spend $120.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCLD5&P=C
This Charger has a 5 amp Output an does Nimh/Nicd

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKWU9&P=0

These two Batts should round it off nicely

These are not competition spec by any means but would allow you to enjoy the Hobby on a $120 budget

There Tenergy Batts and whilst they are not Brilliant they would be OK for home use...

Bare in mind a 4200mah Battery would take nearly an Hour and a half to charge at 3amps...

Excelllent..
Charger Has 5 amp Capability and will peak the Batts Nicely

Batts are 3300mah which is enough for around 10-15mins of Rubber racing and around 20-25mins Solid Drifting on Polypipe Tyres..
