drift tires or for nitro use abs i find they last longer and all you need is a some what rich setting with a good bit of smoke than practice a setup wont drift like the one in the video thats practice

the tires are not good for your application. they do not have enough forward bite to do switchbacks. i sgguest the hpi T tires. there still slippery but have a lot more but then the type A.

for nitro id wait til the new rs4 drift series come out and grab the single speed tranny from that so you dont have to mess with a 2spd and it shifting while your trying to drift

Or you could just set the shift setting on the tranny to stay in first gear, plus Type T's are not used for nitro drifting, because of the extreme heat, they will distort. Use ony type a's or yok radials.

zxavin is right, a HPI Sprint 2 would offer you a Better drifter then the nitro RS4... but if you want to stick with Nitro sliding, ABS Tyres are too slick causing the Nitro motor to over rev causing a really bad Head crack.

Whilst nitro's are OK at racing, drifting is done at alot lower speeds, you will need to run the motor rich just to keep it alive..
Also be prepared to go through Clutches and Brake pads like no tommorrow...

i agree with you. its better to start out with electric for drifting.

but... you dont really use that much of a clutch unless you use VERY think springs like 1.1 or 1.2 springs (thats just stupid to run for the application) and also the clutch shoes, if you use carbon clutch shoes with a vented clutch bell. you will be fine. its all on how you gear your for drifting. most people just skip that part when tuning your car. and with brake pads, is the same thing its all depends on the setup and how you apply it.

hmmm i guess your right with the nitro thing but....i heard somewhere that if you dip rubber tires into a nice deck finish it smooths out more but i think just get normal drift tires or if the car is 4WD use ABS on back and drift tires up front, don't know if that would work but it would give traction on front and glide on back plus good drifting =)

GOOD LUCK!!

make your own abs tires out of some pluming pipe. thats what i did. works mint. go on youtube and search for "abs drift tires" to see how to make them.

i made drift tires for my HPI RS4 3 EVO+ and this thing drifts with ease. its so damn fun. just be careful at first to avoid curbs and get the feeling for it.

the only problem is that the abs dust gets everywhere. thats why my car is in pieces to get a proper cleaning.

make sure you make a 4 tires. i swear as soon as you put them on it will feel like a new hobby.
