Default Losi Drift-R

Well guys, I took the plunge and got a new car. Let me know if this is a decent model.

http://www.losi.com/Products/Feature...rodId=LOSB0289

I got it cause it looked like it had a nice radio that I could reuse if I decide to go with more models later. Plus I liked the way it looks. Pretty sweet looking ride if you ask me. =)

losi is good stuff, but you will run into a couple of problems with it. The Axles are larger than the standard size, so some wheels will not work with that car, and losi parts are generally a little harder to come by, but all in all losi is quality stuff.

Sweet - Well, I am trying to get my hands on a TA-04s as well. Will see how it goes...

Thanks for the heads up on the wheel size. Didnt know that. Also - Looks like it has a 203mm width. Does that mean that 200mm bodies will fit it? The LHS guy said 190mm bodies.

This is from the specs page of it..

Width:8 in (203.2mm)

the measurements aer kinda vague, 200mm bodies will fit with offset rims. Depends on the individual bodies tho. for example my tt01 is 185mm, and the droo-p body i have on it is supposed to be 190mm, however i have 10mm rims on the back which would theoretically make the width 205 but the tires sit flush to body. so your best bet is to just see what works and what doesnt.

Well - I used a radio shack battery and ran this car tonight. I have to admit Im not impressed yet. It was an 1800Mah Nicd battery. Fully charged for sure. Used my Bantam BC-6 to charge it. Its performance was very comparable to my 100 dollar Protoyo drifting car. What gives? Im sure something is wrong???

Well, I picked up a couple of PowerMax 2400 Nimh last night. LHS had a 2 pack on sale =)...

What an amazing little car this is. Its PLENTY fast for me! Im going to have to practice with this thing. It will do donuts! haha

Thanks for the tip guys~!

I do have another noob question for ya. This thing slides all over the place (it has drift tires on it). If I were to put a softer "street" tire on it would it just roll over or would it just hug the corners better? I like how fast it is but Im not so sure I like all the sliding. Maybe I just need lots of practice and learn how to use the sliding to my advantage?

Well, a buddy at the flying field said maybe I should try just a little softer tire on the front of the car and leave whats on it on the back. Thoughts?

Im using the Losi Drift-R tires that came with the car - I think this may be the ones http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=LOSB7471

DriftProjectR - I may have been confusing you but its the slide and drift that I want to get away from. I want the car to grip it and rip it! lol Not just slide around everywhere. hehe
