hey..im workin on my spur gear..when i got the tt01r kit it came with the 55,58,61 tooth spur gears..i had the 61 in and today i desided to check on the other ones..what u guys think about the 55 tooth?..should i put that one in or the 58 instead of 61?

55 has less teath so farthur apart and deflects small rocks and pebbels more easily due to not alot of space to go through also smaller amount of teath to go through so faster more power aaaaa its personal preference but thats what i would go with

i have the same chassi, well mine isnt stock no more but it is still a TT01R
gearing depends on the motor and what u wann do with it. with drifting you rather have more low end power then top speed. Heat is you main worry with gearing, as long as the motor is not getting hot enough where it will burn you your gear is fine based on if it gives you the performance you are looking for
the stock tt01r set up is the 22/61 gearing which gives alot of low end power with so so top end
by dropping the spur size u will lose low end power but gain top speed, which isnt ideal for drifting, i would say if ur not trying to go faster leave the stock gearing

Yeah man its all about tuning. remember keep an eye on temps, i was running the 22/58 with stock TTO1R motor with no heat issues, all tho i had heat sink and fan.
i found the best was to get a faster/stronger motors and keep it geared for low end. but its all about doing with what you have. enjoy glad i could help

Who has tried the lowest pinion and highest spur on a tt01d?
I saw on the web that they sell lowest pinion of 12T & highest spur of 61T. Anyone?
Also, I have a 23T motor. So what ratio should I put to get more acceleration? I can sacrifice top speed because circuits here are small and tight.
Thanks...from SG

Right m8 if u want fast acceleration stick with 19/61 if u want topspeed get the 25t pinion set and go for 25/55 i run around the middle 23/58 on a 17turn give good pullaway and top speed with no heat on the motor after a 30min run.
I havent tried any pinion under the standard 19t as theres more than enough torque and acceleration on the 19/61 setup but crap topend [

and i aint got a clue wot carmans on about u shouldnt be getting stones or pebbles in the sealed pinion/spur box anyway LOL

What would be ideal gearing for drifting in a tamiya tt01? I got a venom firball 15T motor if that helps.

24/58 is what i use m8 but im sure somewhere else u said your already running that combo,so it depends on which tyres you use i have pvc so the high gearing gets me some speed if your using rubber tyres come down a bit in the gearing maybe 22/58
