Who is drifting with Nitro power?
I'm addicted to Nitro and have been drifting my AE NTC3 and I'm wondering if anybody else is drifting their Nitro cars?
Post up what you're drifting and how you've modded it to drift better.

I am.
I've only got stock GReddy RS4 Evo+ with ABS.
The only major modification on it are the plastic shock things. I put in the medium sized ones to make it really stiff.
Any hop-ups/mods for you?

Ooh, I've got that engine... The only downside is the gasket. The stock ones are horrible.
Plus, I've heard that they are quickly going out of style and the round plastic gaskets are becoming more popular.
However, if you do decide on getting one, try buying some Associated gaskets. That way, you won't have to keep running to the hobby shop

RE: Who is drifting with Nitro power?
Wow, it would just be a better idea to grab a whole nother car.
What does that even do?
By moving the stuff around on the car and adding weights where needed, you would effectively balance out the car, no need for the kit.

What chassis mods have most of you found to work best?
I've also lowered the gearing to make it the most responsive at low speeds.

When you dont get a real drifting kit your car will move realy slow, Ive seen videos of people putting on pvc pipe on the tires and the tires spin too much. If you use some hard ruber tires with the sage d kit you will drift like the real thing, with speed and style. Look at the video that hpi has on their site...

that is what I have and it drifts like a CHAMP!!

What does the stage D kit consist of? I know it won't apply to my NTC3 but I'm curious to know what they change. I'm still playing with overall chassis balance on my car changing shock settings and adding weights in different places.
That video is good, they've got that car dialed in very well. I've got my car so it will drift at speed very well but I'm having a harder time with the slower/tighter stuff. I think Nitro drifting just needs more space/larger track then electric. I think that's the case with Nitro period. Our local track is just too small to be fun. Running on foams, I hit second gear about 75% of the way down the main straight and that's with really short gearing. I can never use the potential of either of my cars on that track.
I tried some drifting on our local on-road track and it was OK, a bit tight in the corners to allow for nice broad drifts. It's not the ideal size. I later went to a larger parking lot was able to do some really excellent drifting. I'd like to find a parking garage with that slippery concrete to try out. I need to get some small cones to setup a course in a suitably sized area.

danketchpel, The stage-D kit includes a new chassis plate to mount the engine near the center of the car, a special header, drift tires with rims, an alloy servo mount, a carbon-fiber upperdeck, and other goodies.
The whole idea is to shift all the weight of the car to the center so its "balanced"

I still might do it........
Are you running stiffer springs or just your standard off-road setup?
I was thinking to slam it down as far as I could and put on some stiff springs.

I wish it was easier to get drift tires in different compounds so you could play with the grip balance easier. I think I still need more grip in the front vs the rear. I was actually thinking to try the rubber HPI X pattern tires in the front and drift tires in the rear but I think the difference might be too much. At least it's easy to try.
