Default NewDrifter Advice 4-DA-N00Bs

I come on here offten to talk with others about drifting. I also visit the groovy drift forums.

A lot of new people come to the sport of drifting everyday and welcome to the world of rc drifting. In this post I'll give you some basic advice as to what car to look for.

So to avoid that "HEY look a this car!! is it good for drift???" or the "I just bought a blah blah blah is it good?"

As for any sport or hobby your getting into, you dont want to go crazy and buy top of the line right off the bat. For example, don't buy the $4000 dollar golf clubs before you learned how to golf. Right? ok.

Your choices for an entry level to get you started are the Tamiya TT01 and the HPI e10. yeah yeah yeah I hear the other members slamming away right now at their keyboards about getting a yoke or a sprint 2 drift. Those are great I like them, but... who wants to learn how to drift in a 300 dollar yoke and slam it into a wall??? Not me.

Lets look into the TT01 for now. The TT01 reminds me of a Civic. Its cheap. Parts are everywhere. You can crash them left and right and no one would shed a tear. I still have my very first tt01. I've beaten this thing so hard and it still performs.

I know you hate hearing entry level, but the TT01 is something you can live with your whole RC drift career. This thing will drift right out of the box with a quick change to a smooth surface and some drift tires.

Thats it. Your first step. so lets rehash:
Step 1: buy a cheap hobby grade RC car such as a Tamiya TT01 or a Hpi e10 and throw 20 dollar drift tires on it.
- It'll drift. I know it will. Go do it.

Done? You like?

Thats all you need to get started in hobby grade drifting. Trust me. Bash it up and have fun.
Keep it cheap at first, and always keep in mind that something will break or go wrong. You'll thank me for it later.
I'm always happy to help new people get into drift so insted of typing up a novel here I'll volunteer to help so toss me a pm and I'll answer your questions.
