I'm already sold on the TC5 (have it sitting right here waiting to be assembled).
Now I'm looking at brushless setups for it.
Part 1: What would you put in a drift car that would occasionally be used to have a bit of fun the 'old fashioned' way?
Part 2: If the budget were sub-$400? If the budget were unlimted?
Im looking at a Tekin RSPro 17.5 System right now and wondering if there is anything else I should consider.

I roll an 8.5 Novak Slydr combo. It's a censored motor and if you can afford it, it's probably one of the best set ups you can get for drifting. The good thing is that you could use it for other applications too. It's a fast motor and SUPER responsive. That's my recommendation! It's going to be fun regardless of what you get. The other good thing about the 8.5 is there is plenty of speed to pull you through nice long sweepers.

Got a Mamba Max 5700kv setup.
Judging by quality of the build alone, its not that great. The motor sounds like there is something wrong inside when you spin it by hand (but I'm told its normal by support). The screws holes on the front of the motor are really hard to start threading. The USB port isn't lined up enough to fit the USB end in without clearance issues. The whole thing feels just really cheap.
On the up side it seems to run ok. The ESC and motor don't get too warm, in fact the ESC is closer to cool than warm.
Its going up for sale if I can't return it.
Going with a Slyder or Tekin RS Pro 13.5T instead.
