I am trying to help a Mate out who has a Stock TT-01..
At the moment he is running the Stock 19T pinion and 61T Spur...
I have checked the Gear Chart and it is safe to run a 22T pinion on the 61T Spur...
BUT
How will this effect his stock silver can ??
Do you think this ratio will still allow him to bust it slideways or will the gearing send the acceleration off to far to slide..
He also does a bit of road racing on HPI X-Pattern tyres..

Well the silver can is pretty durable. I ran one in my durga with a 19t pinion for a year and nothing happened. Still have the motor. Use the 5 second rule. If you can put your finger on the motor for 5 seconds after running it its fine.

Should give him a little more top end speed but shouldnt effect his drifting too much
Longer drifts will be easier now as it will have the power through the sweep of the drift

Yeah I wish I could dump a Tamiya RZ motor into it for him but it needs to be reliable and not sure if the TEU101BK will take the punishment when he switches to his grip tyres...
Thanks Tiger, I will wack in the 22T pinion and take her for a test slide...

Well as you can see I sorta went all out for him...
Since he is a first time Slider/Street racer I fitted a new set of Poly's to his 24mm racing rims, Preped and painted a R-34 Skyline shell and did it in typical drifter style ( Black Bonnet)..
The Shell is an Old HBX Skyline Shell I had lying around... So I gave it a Top coat respray and she turned out rather well ( Well at least till he scrapes a wall and the paint chips off)
Fitted the 22T pinion to the 61T Spur and took her for a test slide... It slides fine with no worries at all.
I hope he doesn't hate me for going all out..
