Default Ball Diffs

I've been running gear diffs on all my drift cars up until now
i've read alot about them being easily damaged, and i dont want to damage it :\

What i want to know, is how do you lock a ball diff?
I'm guessing you could just tighten it up as much as possible or simply remove the balls?
thanks

if you can find a specific part for locking it like a ball differential go for that because that is made specifically to act as a locked differential
