one way diff

i have a question, i have a TL01 and a one way diff in the back and my question is, is it going to be better if i also put one in the front.
is it going to be better for drifting if i put one way diff in the front and back.

RE: one way diff

yeah I'm getting a TL-01 next week in a trade and I was also wondering that... BTW, what mods do you have in your TL-01 so far? And how does the one way help you? More power to both tires in the back instead of just one tire?

RE: one way diff

so far it stock.. nothing just a esc. and pvc tires. i just mod the diff today... its limited slip diff now..

RE: one way diff

yea with the limiter slip diff its better in putting power on the ground cause but tire are spining at the same rate

RE: one way diff

oh ok, mine is coming with all these mods and stuff, I don't even know... so much stuff! Lightweight chassis is one of them and a P2K Pro Motor, and a Futaba ESC

RE: one way diff

thaat good then cause u'll have the power and if u go pvc/abs tire u drift fine. just need to leard to control that power

RE: one way diff

yeah really, I don't have a one way yet, where did you get yours? and how much? www.tamiyausa.com ??? LMK thanks! The only other onroad cars I have had were a micro, a NRS4 3 RTR, Mugen Prime 12 (nitro) and a Drag car from bolink so this is my closest to normal on road RC :D

RE: one way diff

i made it my self.. if u want to know how i did it, this is how. took the diff out and the gears in them and JB weld them together. that is how i made mines it works. but once u do this u cant change it back unless u buy a new diff.

mtrchamp 07-30-2004 10:00 AM

RE: one way diff

and this is for the front? Ok, I get it, so it's like a spool or a locked diff on a rock crawler?

cynos23 07-30-2004 10:12 AM

RE: one way diff

yes that's it

mtrchamp 07-30-2004 10:41 AM

RE: one way diff

oh ok thanks... so, how do you like the TL-01, is it a fun little car or is it just crap comming out of the box and it's no fun till u mod it a little? I'm kinda interested on getting info on it. How fast would you say it does stock?

cynos23 07-30-2004 11:39 AM

RE: one way diff

it is slow stock, but i got this just for drifting, if i guest u hook it up then it might go fast, i have a ta02 with a d6 6turn and i can go up againts a nitro one speed. so i guest TL01 can go fast. i like the car for a beater car something to jsut play around with

mtrchamp 07-30-2004 01:55 PM

RE: one way diff

yeah same...

RE: one way diff

dude be careful with a lock diff when u hit things cause i just broke my bogbone

hpi drift fever 07-31-2004 03:32 AM

RE: one way diff

dont hit things lol...

i dont really see how a locked diff would effect the breakage of a dogbone tho.... get it fixed and start runnin again man!

cynos23 08-02-2004 12:54 AM

RE: one way diff

i hit a wall while sliding at full speed and the bog bone snap in half

WhiskyVR-4 08-03-2004 01:38 AM

RE: one way diff

thats not a one-way diff, thats a 2-way diff. one way means that it is locked under power, but each wheel spins freely when you let off the gas. What you have is essentially a solid axle (a spool, as someone mentioned above).

RE: one way diff

Unless you're using rubber tyres, your LSD will be redundant
