What to get
Hey, I am new to the whole r/c with the exception off the tyco trucks I had as a kid. Me and a few friends go tinto them around Christmas. We all got offroad, but I think I want an onroad car to try drifting with, I don't really see having one to just drive around the lot, but drifting would be fun. I bought an hpi rush for offroad, and like it except I am having engine trouble, but bought a new one so that is hopefully fixed. I have been looking at buying an hpi rs4. What do you all think of these cars? I want to go nitro and shaft driven, I know it is more money, but I think that is what I want. Do you think nitro is good, or should I look into electric? Also I have looked at the stage d kits, are the good or just unnessicary? I like the rs4 ss cars. I appreciate any other sugestions or info on cars. Thanks

RE: What to get
Seriously, don't buy a touring car just for drifting. You'd be better off getting a savage or another offroad vehicle for the fun factor. Look at it from the sidelines, would you rather be enjoying the hobby with your friends or watching a car slide around a parking lot by yourself?
If you're persistant on drifting, go for the RS4 3 EVO RTR. It has plently of hop-up options ( including the stage-d drift conversion ) and out of the box will be the best bang for your buck, hands down. |
RE: What to get
I will definately be keepin the offroad car too, I just thought it would be fun to get into, and if I get into it some of the rest of them will too, what about the electrics? are they any better and for what reasons are why are they worse?

RE: What to get
I've had my share of electric r/c's, but it's something I have 'grown' out of. The bad, motor rebuilds ( brush and comm ), short run times, battery charging down time. The good, not much clean up, yeah... that's about it. Price wise I find nitro to be cheaper in the end, and what beats filling the tank with fuel and bashing?
