Here is my new drift toy. Just got it the other day. Gotta strip it down and clean it up.

Tamiya TA03R-S

Might see if I can convert it into a TA03R

You planning on converting it to an frp or cf chasis?

i have a novak brushless system too and i was wondering whats up with that huge capacitor on the battery wires. i had read somewhere that its supposed to help the performance of the esc. for some reason when i pull hard on the trigger my car kinda sputters before taking off. i read trouble shooting on it and it says it might be the capacitator. my esc still has one on it and it doesn't look damaged. have you ever experienced this before?

RE: POST A PIC Of YOUR DRIFT CHASSIS THREAD

I decided to be silly and embarass myself.

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...3/IMG_0696.jpg

I have no idea what this car is, other than the fact that its a tamiya. If you look closely the front is wider than the rear, the chasis is flipped around, and someone somehow attached the steering mechanism to the back of the car.

The top brace of the chassis is custom graphite or carbon fiber or something. The 4wd belt has been removed, and theres a 2nd piece mounted to the front and rear shock tower. What the heck is going on? I have no idea... I got the car practically for free, and it came with a perfectly good speed control, mini receiver, servo and battery pack.

I was considering taking the car apart and building a brushless motor ducted fan powered car... who knows.

This is my Nitro 4tec. I believe its 2.5L version
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...3/IMG_0695.jpg

That is cat, rabbit and dog hair you see all over the car. The ground wire has been partly chewed through by my rabbit. Yes, that is painters tape holding the battery pack for the receiver on the car. The receiver also has a balloon over it which was also chewed through by my rabbit.

The car does run.... surprisingly.

Ghetto r/c power!

floPPsy,

The TA03F is nucking futs.

Those are just sheer gorgeous. I love that. BTW, do you prefer your shaft or belt car when drifting?

fl0PPsy 12-13-2007 07:18 AM

RE: POST A PIC Of YOUR DRIFT CHASSIS THREAD

I think I'd have to say that I prefer belt these days. I prefered shafts when I started because they were a little more bulletproof but as I've gotten better and as I've started using better motors I've found that belt drives tend to put the power down smoother and the lack of torque steer is nice too. My main 2 drifters these are the TA03F and this TA05MS both belt drive:

http://members.iinet.net.au/~markusb/P1020994.JPG

When I'm just drifting out in the street I tend to go with my MR4TC SD because there's little rocks everywhere and they dont get on with belts ;) In the past I always used my TT01 but you might have seen the pics further up the page of the conversion I did to it so now I'm not too keen to scratch up the nice CF hehe.

RE: POST A PIC Of YOUR DRIFT CHASSIS THREAD

Good score i730!!! Welcome to the TA03F club ;)

If your going to run brushless in there then make sure you upgrade to the pro gears (white ones). You'll find the pro gears will run alot smoother and will deal with the brushless better.

RE: POST A PIC Of YOUR DRIFT CHASSIS THREAD

its got pro gears
and 68p pinion/spur
this is my 3rd ta03f
